Beacon Designer

Tool nameBeacon Designer
URLhttp://www.premierbiosoft.com/molecular_beacons/index.html
Important features1. Designs primer for Beacon, SYBR green, TaqMan, HRMA [high resolution melting analysis], methyl light TaqMan, and scorpions. 2. Allows the user to view and reuse the pre-search query. 3. Allows the user to add SNP/Point mutation manually. 4. Allows the user to set the reaction condition such as salt concentration, primer concentration etc. 5. Allows the user to open dbSNP directly from the tool.

Features1. Designs primers for real time PCR. 2. Allows the user to add SNPprimers or mutation in the sequence and to design the primers to the mutated region. 3. Allows the user to open the sequence from Entrez and dbSNP directly [i.e. tool directly retrieves the sequence information from dbSNP or Entrez database] or to open the sequence saved in the desktop. 4. Allows the user to check the SNP information for the target gene. 5. Allows for primer specificity checking. 6. Allows the user to check the reading frame, and the opposite strand of the sequence. 7. Displays the primer parameter such as Tm, GC%, self dimers, hetero dimers, primer length, hairpin loop formations, etc. 8. Allows the user to set the reaction condition such as salt concentration, primer concentration, Mg++ and Na+ concentration etc. 9. Results export option is available. Allows the user to generate reports [i.e. user can specify the parameters to be exported along with the primers] 10. Print option is available so that the user can directly take the print-out of the result.
